Case Study Challenge #12

This card was made using the design from the Case Study Challenge #12.  I varied from the Christmas theme to make a birthday card.  The background paper is CTMH Rustic Trails, with the remaining cream and brown cardstock from my generic pile (with no fancy names).  I used CTMH ribbon.  The motorcycle and the "extreme" are from Cricut's Dude lite cartridge cut at heights of 3" and 1". The "Have a", "birthday" and the brackets are from CTMH's A Little Everything stamp set in chocolate ink.  I distressed the motorcycle to make it look like it's a little dirty. (I know it's grammatically incorrect, as my daughter pointed out, but I was in a big hurry to give this card away today, so I didn't have time to find an "n" to match the size and font and was hoping no one would notice!).

I've been playing around in photoshop elements and added a gradient background, a beveled edge, and the signature.  I've also been switching between taking photos and scanning my projects.  I'm no expert and spend just as much time digitizing it as I spend making it.  So please bear with me as I continue playing around until I find my style :-)

Hope you enjoy!

In the Groove

Here's the 3rd layout in the Imagine book.  The bathtub is made from the Cricut Imagine, it was my friends and I can't remember the name of the cartridge (Nursery something?), but I see one of these in my future!  The bath time words were made from the Sugar and Spice cricut lite cartridge.

Case Study Challenge #11

This card was made for the Case Study Challenge #11.  The muse for the month/week is Barbara. Her card was great and provided a lot of inspiration for my submission.  The goal is to use an element from the muse's creation whether it is the design, embellishments, color pallette, or any other aspect that inspires.  I used the design, the bling, and the star.  The tree and joy were cut out from the Cricut Create A Critter cartridge.  The bling are CTMH sparkles, the black and silver star paper is from the Rock Star Stack from DCWV, and the rest are just miscellaneous supplies I had laying around waiting for the right inspiration to come along.

Hope you enjoy!

Sideline Surprise

Since this layout has so many pictures, very little paper and embellishments were needed to make it cute.  To make the diaganal cuts, I created a template with scrap cardstock and used them to cut the photos.  The  dimensions for the slanted photos are all 4" wide and the Left x Right dimensions from top to bottom are:
Left side- 4x3; 2x4; 6x5;
Right side - 2x3; 4x2; 2x4; 4x3

Leading Lady

My new goal is to do every layout in the CTMH Imagine how-to-book.  I got the idea from the movie Julie and Julia where the main character makes every recipe in the Julia Child's cookbook in 365 days.  I'm not giving myself a time limit, but will do each layout in the order that they are presented in the book.  Sometimes I get stuck in the "what layout do I want to do next?" phase and I'm hoping this will keep me focused on getting pages done.

Cooking Mama

This is the last of my Studio J layouts for awhile.  This one uses the Sweet Home paper pack.  The program allows for you to change out papers within the design.  You can select any one the background and texture papers from the selected paper pack or any of the 60 cardstock colors.  Most of the time, I happy with the layout just the way it is.

Hope you enjoy!

Baby Shower

More Studio J layouts, this time using the Magic Moments paper pack.  One of the things I really like about digital scrapbooking is that I don't have to worry about printing pictures.  Figuring out which ones to print, what sizes to print, and getting my printer to print accurately drives me crazy.  I can upload as many pictures as I want, move them around from photo block to photo block, and zoom in and out until I'm satisfied with the results.  When I'm ready to order, CTMH worries about the print quality....which is excellent!

Hope you enjoy!
